The ScreenSet:

The idea of ​​a new ScreenSet was partly to get a more symmetrical layout which could thereby make room for a few more functions and all 6 axes, and even larger toolpath display on all pages, but still keep the same simple and inspiring environment with the same well functional features such as Mach3 standard ScreenSet contains. And at the same time allow for multiple skin and an opportunity also to use MACH3 on a larger screen with a great graphics resolutions.

All 6 axes are implemented on all Screen Sets pages, without it seeming crowded, this is convenient since many small Stepper Cards in the future will come with both 5 and 6 axes and already there are Chinese versions with 5 axes, and if you do not use all axes directly the extra axes can be used for other automation functions such as Tool change.

As also described on Artsoft Mach3's website Mach3 started mostly for hobby people, but is now increasingly used in the professional CNC world, most of all because of the unlimited possibilities of traditional Pc, and this combined with the many features/function and stability the software from Artsoft Mach3 delivered.
So I have tried to find a balance with coverage of both world with a professional and presentable layout and still with a panel design that is motivating to work with and the various skin also makes that you can adjust the term.

How to 'Install' Screenset package

1: Download the ScreenSet Package Zip file to your hard drive usually C: (so you will always have a copy even if you install a new Mach3 revision).

2: Then you unzip the zip file (se how on download page) containing 10 set files and 2 folders.
3: Then you copy the 8 files with the last 3 letters (.Set) from the downloaded folder to your Mach3 folder usually C: Mach3
4: Then copy the folder with the name PBJ-bitmaps from the downloaded folder to your Mach3 folder under Bitmaps C: Mach3/Bitmaps.
5: Then copy the folder with the name PBJ-Bitmaps-1400 from the downloaded folder to your Mach3 folder under Bitmaps C: Mach3/Bitmaps.
So it should look like this:

However, note (.Set) files must be directly in Mach3 folder.

How to change ScreenSet from Mach3 standard ScreenSet 1024.set to one of the new ScreenSet

1: Click View and then Load Screens

2: Double click the SET file you want to use.

3: A few seconds after the Screen is open.

You can easily switch between the new ScreenSets and MACH3 standard ScreenSet, it has nothing to do with the MACH3 program 'hardcoden' to do and it has nothing to do with machine setup codes in XML files.

At the Standard ScreenSet by Mach3 there are some keyboard Shortcut written in parentheses after the function, but since it is not on all the function and to make it more manageable without too much text I have chosen to completely omit the Shortcut text but instead made ​​a 'button' on all pages where you quickly can get to a page with all the keyboard shortcuts described.

On the Screen Simpelrun there is a button labeled Manual Jog this button is to change G-Code display to 14 buttons where you can manually navigate all 6 axes for a final fine tuning.
You could also just choose TAP and Manual Jog Wheel would appear, in principle be the same, and settings for manual jog come also from the Jog Wheel settings but you stay in the simple environment in this way.

The Screen labeled Extra is a page to link to upcoming or new pages and for your own custom functions.

Output 4, 5 and 6 Buttons on RunProgram Screen you have to enable and setup in Ports and Pins / Output Signals.

Input 1, 2, 3 and 4 Led on RunProgram Screen you have to enable and setup in Ports and Pins / Input Signals.

Very important setting in Mach3 to get the best graphics on the PBJ Screen Sets:

In Mach3 go to: CONFIG - GENERAL CONFIG - SCREEN CONTROL

UnCheck : Auto Screen Enlarge (This is very important)

Check : Hi-Res Screens (Hi-Res is not so important)

In more detail explained below.

How do I get perfect graphics on my screen and how about ScreenSet sizes:

All screens have a standard Resolution called The Native Resolution.

Wiki:The native resolution of a LCD, LCoS or other flat panel display refers to its single fixed resolution . As an LCD display consists of a fixed raster, it cannot change resolution to match the signal being displayed as a CRT monitor can, meaning that optimal display quality can be reached only when the signal input matches the native resolution. An image where the number of pixels is the same as in the image source and where the pixels are perfectly aligned to the pixels in the source is said to be pixel perfect.

In many descriptions of the flat panel is described the Native Resolution and Max Resolution but you are not getting perfect results using Max Resolution. So you are stuck on the Native Resolution.

The problem then is to get ScreenSets to be partly perfect graphics and fit to your screen.

Mach3 comes with a standard ScreenSet which has a resolution of 1024x768. which most ScreenSet do. Displays today come with a higher resolution and MACH3 is default set to fit the size of your screen, which means that ScreenSet either being stretched or shrunk to fit the screen, that means, unfortunately, just that the graphics are bad specially text and borders.

Setting Fig.1 For perfect graphic this is recommended Fig. 2

If you then change the settings in Mach3 under (Config> General Config> Screen Control) from Fig.1 to Fig 2 especially by uncheck auto screen enlarge, you get the best graphics. By having auto enlarge turned on is the same as to enlarge a small photo.

If you made the above settings, you have a perfect graphics but MACH3 is small on the screen if you have a higher native resolution that's where this ScreenSet is good because you also have a complete ScreenSet at a higher resolution of 1400x1024.

Why not make one for all sizes, unfortunately there are a lot of screen sizes, and there shall be created an entirely ScreenSet for each size in both graphics and features so it is very extensive. But with these two sizes 1024x768 and 1400x1050 are you better off.

Even with an HD 1920x1080 resolution screenset 1400x1024 almost fills the entire screen, but the width is larger but this you can take advantage of by having Jog Wheel enabled all the time.

You can test the two setting in MACH3 with ScreenSet you are using now and see the difference between that ScreenSet fit to screen size or that there are focused on good graphics.

The size of 1024x768 could easily be made smaller, but the chosen resolution gives a razor-sharp resolution and the size difference from the standard size is very small and has no great effect.
There where at a very slow computer will be able to feel an effect is at a resolution of 1400x1050 and if you then also use SimpelRun with a large display.

Mach3 from Artsoft: I am also a pioneer of CNC hobby and has now built both Routers and Lasers that operate via Mach3 and I'm still very impressed with Mach3 and the endless possibilities it offers, in the early hobby cnc days I started to make a program in VB to control a CNC router, but when Mach3 came on the market I dropped the thought of making a program simply because Mach3 is just perfect, I do not see an alternative and use it diligently, especially the ingenious structure Mach3 has: the XML files containing machine data, and so the module with the 'hard code' and the final user interface (ScreenSet).
The openness that is about the program the support and well-documented user manuals are also fantastic.
